About Us

Our Story

Centerpoint Church was shaped by an Acts 1:8 vision to gather people around the mission of reaching into the growing diversity of our city. A core group of families and individuals came together in the Summer of 2014, commissioned by The Church at LifePark in Mount Pleasant and Riverbluff Church in North Charleston and began gathering together on Sunday mornings in September 2014. Centerpoint Church partners with other strategic Gospel-centered churches in greater Charleston. In February 2015, two local church plants, The Hive Church and Sanctuary Church, merged with Centerpoint to unite and become one church with a common vision. Together we are pursuing the vision of knowing Jesus, building community and engaging brokenness.

Our Vision

Knowing Jesus. Building Community. Engaging Brokenness.
We are always growing in our understanding of the person and the work of Jesus. We believe the gospel - Jesus death for our sin, His burial, and His victory through resurrection - changes everything. Through the gospel, we have been reconciled to God and to each other and live as His body here in the world. Because Jesus came to live among us as a servant, sacrificing himself to redeem his people, we live to make him known and proclaim and demonstrate the gospel in every aspect of life.

Our Mission

Making disciples who make disciples.
The mission for the Church was given to us by Jesus when He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20). And that’s exactly the mission we are called to: Making disciples who make disciples.

A disciple of Jesus is committed to bringing all of life increasingly under the leadership of Jesus and leading others to do the same. The mission of Centerpoint Church is not just to grow a Sunday gathering. Our desire is to equip God's people to live as disciples who make disciples and help others follow Jesus.
